The form we rewrote for everybody

The original intake form ran to nine pages and assumed a lawyer at your elbow, so most people gave up. We rewrote it in plain sentences and cut it to one. Black Lives Matter treats communication as something you owe the person across the table, not a test you set for them.

Our rewrite became a model for three other agencies, and each copy is a receipt for a stranger who finally got through.

We keep the before and after in the library of our wins, side by side, because the difference is the argument.
